The Kennel "from New Palais"

The Boxer came First. In 1981 the puppy Corby, a nine week old brindle puppy from "Mariendorfer Höhe" became a part of our family. It was clear to my husband that it had to be a boxer along with our house and yard. mainly because he grew up with Boxers. Corby won my heart within seconds and we only had boxers the following years.

Alexander von Maximus moved in with us in 1988. A light fawn colored male with a white spot. He took part in the "SchH1", was "angekört" (German for: to choose for breeding), He presented himself confident at the Dog Show and produced lovely and healthy puppies.

After Alexander von Maximus, Godwin from Santana came to us. A brindle male Boxer with a beautiful face. Unfortunately he found Dog Show extremely boring, so that we stopped taking him shortly after. Dog sport was his greatest joy. He passed the "Schutzhundprüfung", SchH1 (German for: protection dog).

Alexander von Maximus was chosen for breed and produced healthy baby boxers. Godi did not like to be home alone, so we bought him a girlfriend-Agatha Von der Eichtränke. Gathi also absolved the SchH1 exam and had puppies twice. With this the international protected kennel "vom Neuen Palais" was founded. Agatha was 12 years old when she passed away in December 2006. After she left us we wanted to become "free people" again. We did not want to get more dogs. We started to explore Berlin which changed its facet daily. We went on great trips but after six month of being "free" we realized something is missing. Living a life without a dog turns out to be a dog's life!

But we said no more Boxers. Something smaller. We discussed different breeds like French Bulldogs, Pugs and Boston Terrier. We looked at all of them at Dog Shows and talked to the Breeders. We gathered information through the Internet and out of books. Due to the close relationship to my female Boxer "Gathi" I wanted to have another Female, who was suppost to move in with us during the summer of 2007. I spoke to Silvia Hesse, a boxer and boston terrier breeder, who I met during our time with boxers. We looked at the puppies born on May 7th although we knew all of the little ones were sold already. We were amazed that the "Doggy-family" was chasing through the yard with Mom Jamila and Grandma Esperanza regardless of the fairly high summer temperatures. We planed to get a little girl with the next brood.

But we had a little change of plan. Two weeks later Silvia Hesse called us and said, it turns out that O'Melly, one of the puppies is available. "the one your husband liked", she said. Again my husband was all set it was me who had a sleepless night. The next day we agreed on taking O'Melly, who moved in with us in August 2007. I liked the name O'Melly- it sounds like a fine Irish whisky, that is a good name for a Dog!
